Food and service was great! Excellent location and close proximity to the beach for a nice walk after lunch.

Easy, friendly, good variety, and tasty! Nice fire heaters outdoors, too. We had edamame, sake, a few rolls, carpaccio and miso soup. Happy hour was a plus!

Love the food especially the carpaccios and craft sushi. They are super unique unlike any sushi I've had before. They also make a smoked soy sauce which is awesome. Friendly staff and vibe with no pretension. Looking forward to my next visit.

I came here for the first time with some friends and I had such a great experience! We made it early enough to order off the happy hour menu and split everything! The atmosphere is calming yet energetic due to the fun music and nice wait staff. Overall, I highly recommend!

As a returning customer, the new white table tops had me in a chokehold. The food is always amazing and the new tables make Japonica feel more elevated and elegant. The chef, definitely the best tonight. And our waiters and waitress, Frank, Gared, Michael and Emily were absolutely amazing! Quality service!

Happy hour is great, very delicious and affordable. My favorite dish was the shishito peppers! So yummy. The sushi was not very traditional which caught me off guard, but the flavors were great. Specially, the amount of micro greens on the sushi was funny. The scottish salmon was different than what you would find at other sushi restaurants. Nevertheless, we left full and happy. This restaurant is small, so it does get busy, but the service was quick and the food came out quickly.

Best sushi EVER!!! Food is amazing, the staff is most friendly and welcoming. Our favorite rolls are the NO rice rolls. Nothing wrong with rice but we get to have more sushi without filling up on rice. ;)

Love the outdoor area and vibe of this place which is very close to Hermosa Beach. The staff is super friendly and service was prompt. I had the sushi lunch combo which includes a miso soup, 6 pieces of nigiri and 4 pieces of either a cali or spicy tuna roll and a side. The sushi was delicious especially with the smoky soy sauce. For the side, I had the Tempura shrimp which was slightly over battered and could be a little more crunchy. My husband had the ramen lunch special and loved it. Overall, great experience and I'd come back again.
